Our Big Question this term is
“Who made our wonderful world?”
Our Autumn Term begins with the story of ‘The Creation’. Through stories, play, exploration, and creative activities, we will be learning about the beautiful world God created, and how every child is a unique and valued part of it.
Pupils will be encouraged to respond to questions that stimulate curiosity by exploring how things grow, change and are made. We will be discussing the natural world and what we can see around us, the plants, animals, weather and seasons and share discoveries from nature walks.
🌍 Day One ✨
God created light, and separated it from the darkness
We have been exploring torches to make light in the blackout tent.
Our task in the creative was to choose light and dark colours for the sky at night and the sky in the daytime.
☁️ Day Two 🌍
God created the sky above the earth and separated the waters
We have been talking about what we can see in the sky and recording our observations through drawings and paintings
We are exploring wavy lines to represent the sea, using different shades of blue.
We painted fluffy clouds for the sky, and squeezed rain drops from cotton wool in the water tray.
🌊 Day Three 🌱
God created the land, seas, plants and trees
We have been out and about to look for objects found in nature such as trees and flowers
We recorded our observations on a ‘I have seen tick list’
Back in class we then recorded our observations through drawings and paintings

God created the sun, the moon, and the stars

We have been busy creating a large collaborative mural of the world using paint, collage and natural materials.
🐟Day Five🐦
God created fish in the sea and birds in the sky.
Our challenge in the small world area, was to sort the creatures into simple categories: lives in the sea or lives in a tree
