After School Golf Club
Exciting news for our budding golfers! This summer term, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our After School Golf Club, taking place at the fabulous North Wales Golf Club (NWGC) practice ground. We can’t wait to tee off this incredible journey with our students!
Our enthusiastic students have been perfecting their skills by working on proper grip techniques, honing their short game, and aiming at targets with pitching wedges. Plus, they have the opportunity to master their long shots using drivers!
At the end of each weekly session, we throw in a bit of friendly competition by challenging each other for the longest shot and the straightest shot.
But the fun didn’t stop there! We also headed over to NWGC for special putting sessions, where students had the chance to meet the pros and the club manager.
After all the hard work on the green, we went to the 19th Hole for some well-deserved refreshments and laughter.
This fantastic experience will potentially lead to joining the North Wales Golf Club junior section, opening doors to further development and enjoyment of the sport
A huge thank you to NWGC for their generously allowing us to use their outstanding facilities.

Disney Playmakers
Here at Ysgol Ffordd Dyffryn, we offer a range of amazing after school activities including Disney Playmakers which is offered to girls between 5 and 8 years old. Not only do the girls develop football skills through this programme, but they also develop resilience, confidence and communication skills.
What is Disney Playmakers?
Disney Playmakers is a programme created by UEFA and Disney with an aim to inspire more girls to see the fun in football and physical activity. The programme aims to introduce girls aged 5-8 to football by providing an environment designed for them that focuses on fun, friends, and football. Sessions mix fun football activities with Disney storytelling. These sessions create an environment where imaginations can run wild as an iconic Disney story is told through movement and play.

Our Sessions
The first story that we focus on is the Incredibles 2. As we read through the story, the girls help to build and design the setting of the story using cones and then we use different football skills to help re tell the story. Here, the girls had to build a force field around the “underminer” (a drill that tries to destroy city hall in the story) and they did this by dribbling the ball around the drill.
Reflection
At the end of the session, the girls reflect on their achievements and what skills they developed and learnt during the session.
