At Ysgol Ffordd Dyffryn we aim to work together to make the transition smooth and rewarding fro your child.

Children are admitted to our nursery class in September following their third birthday.

In the term prior to entry, new nursery pupils and parents will be invited into school for a series of visits. During this time, there will be an opportunity to discuss the partnership between school and home and talk about any worries you may have. Parents/Carers who wish their children to be admitted to our school at any other stage, are welcome to do so by arrangement with the Headteacher.

The admission of pupils to Ysgol Ffordd Dyffryn is carried out in conjunction with the LEA as admitting authority, information regarding Admissions policy and procedures can be discussed in full with the Headteacher.  Here is the link to the Conwy County Borough Council school admissions website:

Transfer to secondary school

A good relationship exists between our school and all high schools within the area. This includes pupil visits, open days, pre-transfer visits etc.  There will be many opportuinties for parents/carers to visit the secondary school of your choice in the two years leading up to your child's transfer.
