This term in Nursery, our learning will focus on the theme of relationships. We will be thinking about our big question: “Who Helps Me Every Day?”
We have been collecting natural materials found in our garden. We found leaves and petals that nature has dropped. We will use the things we find to make a beautiful Easter egg light catcher. We will know we are doing a great job when…

In Nursery, we have loved celebrating Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant together! We have been learning about the importance of the Welsh flag and discovering why the daffodil is such a special flower for Wales. The children painted their own vibrant Welsh flags and created beautiful observational paintings of the daffodils we planted in the autumn. To finish our celebrations, we took part in a short performance for the St David’s Day concert—showing our pride in Welsh culture and all that we’ve learned!

Over the past few weeks, we have been learning all about the special people who help us every day. We discovered how doctors and nurses care for us when we are hurt or unwell, how firefighters keep us safe during emergencies, how police officers help protect our community, and how hairdressers help us look and feel our best.
The children have enjoyed exploring these important roles through play, stories, and activities. They have learned that helpers are kind, brave, and caring—and that we can all help others in our own small ways. Our theme has shown us how teamwork, kindness, and helping hands make our world a safer and happier place.

One of the most important relationships the children experience in school is friendship. Every day, the children play, learn, and explore together, and through these moments they begin to understand what it means to be a good friend. Together, we’ll think about the qualities that make a good friend—someone who shares, takes turns, listens, helps, and uses kind hands and kind words.

We will also talk about the people who help us at home every day. This might include parents, grandparents, carers, brothers, sisters, or other family members. The children will be encouraged to name the special people in their lives and think about how they help them—perhaps by making meals, reading stories, helping them get dressed, or simply by giving them a cuddle when they need one.
